Minor touch-ups are typically covered free when they're scheduled within 30 days of your original appointment — you have the full 30 days to get it on the books, not to get it done. Touch-ups are at artist discretion. Worth knowing: hands and feet are naturally high-fade areas, so free touch-ups there are less common, and a tattoo that's had a rough time in aftercare may not qualify. A full redo of a piece isn't a touch-up — that level of rework usually traces back to healing, and it's handled as its own conversation.

At Fargo Tattoo in Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota, our stricter house policy accepts tattoo appointments for clients age 16 or 17 only. North Dakota law allows body art for a person under 18 only when a parent, legal custodial parent, or legal guardian is present and gives written consent. Fargo Cass Public Health also requires proper identification, age verification, and required consent records; the studio may refuse service to a minor. Bring government-issued photo ID for the client and parent or guardian, plus guardianship documentation when needed. Designs must be age-appropriate and placement must be appropriate for the client’s age. We do not tattoo a minor’s hands, neck, or face, or sexually explicit, hateful, gang-related, or otherwise age-inappropriate content. Requests remain subject to artist and studio discretion.

Eat a meal, hydrate the day before and day of, bring a sugary drink or snack for long appointments, sleep well, avoid alcohol the night before, and wear clothing that gives easy access to the tattoo area.
